Use of the boat ramp is limited to residents of Brenda Park and their invited guests only.  Please be courteous to other users by launching your boat in a timely manner.

The reserves are there for the enjoyment of leaseholders. There is to be no clearing of trees or native vegetation. Vehicles including motor bikes are strictly prohibited from the reserve areas. Fallen branches can be collected for firewood.

Emergency Exits

In the event of an emergency such as a bush fire there are two main exits by land from the park.  One is through the front gate and the other is via an emergency track located at the end of the park in Brenda Park South.  The gate to the emergency exit in Brenda Park South remains closed but unlocked for use in the event of an emergency only.  The land beyond the gate belongs to the neighboring vineyard however the Assocation has negotiated with the owner to keep the track clear for use in the event of an emergency.

Please note that this is private property and all access to this area via vehicle or foot is prohibited other than in an emergency.

Fire Danger Season

The Fire Danger Season generally runs from November through to April, although these dates may change due to seasonal conditions.

The exact dates are published by the CFS before the Fire Danger Season.

During the Fire Danger Season restrictions are placed on lighting fires to reduce the chances of large fires starting.

These restrictions are escalated when a Total Fire Ban Day is declared.

Visit the CFS Website here for further information on fire danger/seasons.

Fireworks

Discharging fireworks in any part of South Australia is illegal without a permit and there are heavy penalties if you are caught.

In Brenda Park, the risk of lighting up the scrubby back water area is extreme, even in winter due to the amount of fuel load on the ground. Fireworks, as experience shows, can land very unpredictably. The fear to anyone who has lived through a major fire and lost property is very real. It is out of respect for the CFS volunteers and property owners that we ask everyone to not use fireworks.

Police and CFS will immediately be notified if anyone is found to be letting off fireworks in Brenda Park.

Flooding / High Water Events

The river level at which the gate to Brenda Park will be closed is 5.8 metres.

We have been directed by council that this gate must be closed when the river reaches this level to prevent damage to our road.

The park will not be accessible by road at all once this gate is closed.

Vineyard/Neighboring Property

Scotts Creek Vineyard

During the 1970s the Scotts Creek vineyard was established by then owners, Penfold’s, under the guidance of Max Schubert. The site was chosen due to its close proximity to the Barossa Valley, the excellent limestone soils and an ideal climate for premium wine production. The Byrne family acquired this property in 1995 and over the last few years have adopted the innovative sustainability practices allowing water to be returned to the natural environment and preserving our wetlands. This vineyard produces our signature Vine Dried and Double Pass Shiraz products.
